Donation Processing

Responsibilities:

  • Sort donations to appropriate locations for processing
  • Evaluate donations to determine what steps must be taken before donation is ready for sale
  • Test all donations that need testing and mark with tested tag
  • Clean donation to make ready for sales floor
  • Make sure bar codes are crossed out and/or removed from all new merchandise
  • Move items ready for the sales floor to appropriate area for pricing
  • Assist at receiving area as needed, following all guidelines for that position  
  • Assist at pricing area as needed, following all guidelines for that position
  • Move items to the appropriate section of the warehouse or to the store for stocking after pricing
  • Keep processing area clean and organized
  • Assist in recycling area as needed
  • Assist in other store functions as requested
  • Follow all ReStore policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Desire to help the Habitat ReStore with its mission of providing funds for the Springfield/Eugene Habitat for Humanity affordable housing program
  • Friendly and helpful attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate policies and procedures clearly to donors and customers
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately
  • Ability to:
    • lift 50+ lbs. on a regular basis
    • bend, stoop, stretch, and perform repetitive tasks regularly
    • stand for long periods of time
    • climb stairs and use ladders
    • work in a minimally heated/cooled area for extended periods
  • Forklift experience with certification helpful.
