It is amazing how others repurpose cabinet doors. There are many customers who paint these doors and turn them into signs, those who turn them into mudroom coat racks with the mere addition of hooks…this gentleman, Austin, turned matching cabinet doors into wainscoting.
For a “little bit of context, this room experienced some water damage”. Thus he had to cut the drywall up to a certain level then dehumidified, and so forth, rather than taking out all of the drywall instead. Why not add a little bit of character to it with pre-fabricated cabinet panels?
“If I purchased a molding like this at Home Depot, it would’ve been in the hundreds, this cost me around $40. The laminate hardwood. I also got from you guys (the ReStore) from an earlier purchase. The trim to blend in the cabinets at the top and bottom are the only things purchase new.”
But overall it is really adds character to an otherwise standard drywall.
